Skill, precision and commitment

Being a contemporary classical musician, Bettina Kuss’s style encompasses all musical epochs. Whether a Bach Partita, the 2nd violin concert of Bela Bartok or a simple folk song, her approach is always followed by the utmost musical clarity and depth. With precision and an impeccable feel, Bettina Kuss developed concert programs such as “Blume sein” (To Be a Flower) and “Carmens Fantasien“ (Carmen’s Fantasies).

As its program architect, the vibrant programming of contemporary and classical music of Trio Notturno carries her unique stamp. Her affinity for the oeuvre of Johann Sebastian Bach is reflected in her broad concert repertoire of his music including violin concerts, solo partitas (“Sei Soli”), violin sonatas, as well as “The Art of the Fugue”. After many years of touring throughout the region with the International Foundation for the Promotion of Culture and Civilization and others, she achieved prominence as a Bach soloist in Munich with the concert series titled “Bach in Schloss Blutenburg” (Bach in the Blutenburg Castle).

In 1990, the multiple award winning violinist received a Master Class degree with honours from the Conservatorio Superior de San Sebastian, Spain, in the scope of the German national competition titled “Jugend musiziert”. She perfected the discipline of violin performance with Prof. George Nicolescu at the Conservatorio Superior de San Sebastian and with Prof. Ernö Sébestyen at The University of Music and Performing Arts in Munich. Already during her violin studies, she assisted at the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and at the Bach Collegium in Munich.

Bettina Kuss is a member of the European String Teachers Association (ESTA) and the German Musicians Association (DTKV). Apart from diverse teaching assignments, she privately tutors the violin. She lives in Freising, Germany since 2015.
